The scholarship fund was set up in memory of Robert Martinz. Robert had a passion for fixing cars and would have been happy to see students pursuing a career in a trade they were passionate about. Each spring a committee of community members will award a scholarship(s) to a student(s) attending a trade school. Applications are available here or with your high school counselor.
This grant helped us bring ‘Every Brilliant Thing’ to our high school. Students were able to role play and have a discussion about suicide, depression, and resilience. The goal, to diminish the shame associated with suicide and mental illness and bring awareness of depression and suicide to students and staff with SGHS.
